Il existe deux réseaux de suivi réalisés par l’ONEMA : le Réseau Départemental d’observation des Ecoulements (RDOE) (400 stations en Poitou-Charentes) et le Réseau d’Observatoire des Crises d’Assecs (ROCA), en période de crise avec 30 stations par département. Il y a aussi un suivi des assecs en linéaire effectué par les Fédérations de Pêche de Poitou-Charentes.
